Safe window: a reminder for parents
"Safe window"
The basic rules, compliance with which will help save the lives and health of children:
- a child cannot be unattended in a room where the window is wide open or there is at least the slightest chance that the child can open it on his own;
- the window fittings and the frames themselves must be in good working order to prevent their spontaneous or too easy opening by a child;
- if you leave the child alone even for a short time indoors, and you do not want to close the window completely, then in the case of standard wooden frames, close the window with latches both from below and from above (do not neglect the upper latch, since the lower one is quite easy to open) and open the window;
- in the case of a metal-plastic window, put the frame in the "frontal ventilation" mode, since from this mode a small child is unlikely to be able to open the window on his own;
- you can not rely on the "micro–ventilation" mode on metal-plastic windows - it is easy to open the window from this mode, even by accidentally pulling the handle;
- do not neglect child protection products on windows: metal-plastic windows in a house where there is a child simply need to be equipped with special devices that block the opening of the window;
- educate your child correctly: do not put him on the windowsill, do not encourage independent climbing there, strictly warn even attempts at such "games";
- explain to the child the danger of an open window due to a possible fall.
REMEMBER! Only a vigilant attitude towards your own children on the part of you, the PARENTS, will help to avoid trouble!
