Solemn funeral event dedicated to the Day of Military Veterans

On July 1, 2026, at the Theological Cemetery in St. Petersburg‑A solemn funeral event dedicated to the Day of Combat Veterans was held in St. Petersburg, which was attended by Mikhail Dmitrievich Astashkevich, head of the Kalininsky District administration, deputies of the Legislative Assembly, heads of municipalities, veterans and participants of their military operations. Archpriest Alexander performed the requiem mass, followed by a ceremony of laying flowers at the graves of participants in a Special military operation. The national anthem of Russia and musical compositions performed by the Military Orchestra of the Mikhailovsky Military Artillery Academy were played. A special moment was the minute of silence in memory of the fallen defenders of the Motherland. The event was a sincere expression of gratitude and respect to the heroes who fulfilled their military duty.
